Abhyasa Session on “Due Diligence in Property Transactions: From Title Search to Risk Allocation” by Mr. Sanjay Mittal

The Centre for Law and Urban Development was privileged to host Mr. Sanjay Mittal, Partner at Luthra and Luthra Law Offices India, for an Abhyasa session on "Due Diligence in Property Transactions: From Title Search to Risk Allocation" on 17th April 2026 at National Law University, Delhi.

Drawing on his extensive practical experience, Mr. Mittal provided students with a comprehensive understanding of property due diligence in real estate transactions. The session covered critical aspects such as verification of title and ownership records, identification of encumbrances and legal risks, and scrutiny of transaction documents. He also elaborated on the allocation of risks between parties in property deals, emphasizing how such considerations shape contractual structuring in practice.

Through practical insights and real-world context, the session bridged the gap between legal theory and transactional realities, equipping students with a clearer understanding of how due diligence operates in contemporary property law practice.

We sincerely thank Mr. Mittal for his engaging and insightful session, and for offering students a valuable glimpse into the practical dimensions of property transactions.
