LAW & URBAN DEVEVLOPMENT
The Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD) at National Law University Delhi is a multidisciplinary platform focused on research, policy engagement, and capacity building in urban development, real estate, infrastructure, and construction law. CLUD has organized seminars, certificate courses, and executive workshops on affordable housing, project financing, construction contracts, and dispute management, fostering dialogue among academia, industry, and government. The Centre has also collaborated with leading institutions and or executive director recently received an ICSSR research grant for a major-research project, which examines the impact of digital governance on elderly citizens in smart cities. Through its initiatives, CLUD continues to contribute to stronger legal frameworks and best practices in urban development and infrastructure.
RESEARCH FOCUS
To facilitate a multidisciplinary exploration of laws related to property, housing, and urban development, fostering collaboration among students, industry professionals, and academics. The Centre aims to deepen the understanding of urban legal frameworks, policies, and challenges while promoting innovative approaches to address issues such as housing rights, land use, urban planning, and sustainable development. Through research, seminars, workshops, and policy dialogues, the Centre strives to contribute to the advancement of legal scholarship and practice in the urban development sector, ensuring equitable and inclusive growth in urban areas.
